Confidence Figuration

Confidence Figuration

The Statue of Confidence, embodying Confidence, with hair down on his shoulders, holds a ship in its hands.

The ship (caravel) represents the ark in which Noah, his family and the animals were sheltered. The ark is the symbol of the blind trust that Noah deposited in God, and by which he survived the flood that punished the earth for 40 days.

In the booklet, placed beneath the statue, the message stands out: «IN SPE ERIT FORTITUDE VESTRA», translated: «in confidence will be your strength», a response to the worries that invade us.
