Figuration of Moisés

Figuration of Moisés

It is about a cliff beside the stretch of the lake and the gazebo of the park, sheltered by a french balcony, which stands the sculpture of Moises the leader, the enlightened driver of the Hebrew people. The statue was moved from the top of the Pelican Fountain.

In the left hand a rod in action to wound with it the boulder, with the right pointing to the abundant water, alluding to the miracle of making that cool liquid of the rock to sate the thirsty Israelites.

In this place, Moises in the attitude of a spear to bring forth the water of the desert from the middle of the stones, as the Bible says, intends to imitate the previous action, filling the lake with serene waters.
