Kindness Figuration

Kindness Figuration

Also the figure of kindness is represented by a matron with a crown on the head, crowned by the sun, with open arms, hair loose by the shoulders, royal cloak and holding in the right hand a pine branch (disappeared), symbol of the immortality and the vitality force, which is explained by the persistence of the sheet and the incorruptibility of the resin.

The combination of the symbolism of the sun and the pine tree leads us, logically, to a rebirth into immortality.

At the bottom of the statue we find the message of the Letter to the Corinthians: «CHARITAS … BENIGNA EST», translated: «charity is kind», excerpt from a beautiful poem on the immortality of love.
