Photo exhibition
To celebrate the 140th anniversary of the Elevator, a photography contest was held by the Confraria do Bom Jesus do Monte.
The winning photograph (by Luís Oliveira) will represent the Bom Jesus do Monte Sanctuary in Paris in an exhibition that will take place in October on the occasion of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the «Convention for the Protection of World, Cultural and Natural Heritage» by UNESCO.
To commemorate the day of UNESCO Monuments and Sites, Bom Jesus do Monte, a World Heritage Site since 2019, created an exhibition with 23 photographs, about one photo per season, since the laying of the first stone of the Basilica of Bom Jesus (1784 -2020).
With the main objective of disseminating the cultural and natural heritage of Bom Jesus, this virtual exhibition was associated with a set of initiatives promoted by the World Heritage Network of Portugal, of which Bom Jesus is part.
