PRESERVED MEMORY | REVEALED HERITAGE
The exhibition presents a remarkable collection of illustrated postcards which, since the late nineteenth century, have preserved the memory of the religious, cultural, architectural, natural and touristic richness of Bom Jesus do Monte. Through these images, the visitor is invited to rediscover the monumentality of the Sanctuary and the transformation of a heritage in which architecture, nature and contemplation come together in a unique way.
ROUTE
At the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, a route invites visitors to travel through time by way of the gaze. Inspired by à la minute viewing machines, these structures reveal old images aligned with the present landscape, creating a dialogue between past and present, while also stimulating a new way of looking at memory and the transformation of space.
