Marking this occasion, the Confraria do Bom Jesus do Monte — the entity responsible for the management of this Santuário e Estância — promotes the public presentation of the Inventário Geral do Bem. This document systematically and rigorously brings together the survey of all movable and immovable assets that form part of the heritage collection of this Santuário, constituting a fundamental tool for its conservation, management and research.
It is important to highlight that the preparation of this inventory corresponds to one of the essential guidelines within the scope of the candidacy process for Património Mundial, reflecting the commitment to international best practices for the protection and enhancement of cultural and natural heritage. More than a technical requirement for UNESCO, it is an instrument of memory and knowledge, allowing a deeper understanding of the richness and complexity of this unique ensemble.
The Inventário Geral do Bem will be available to the public through the digital platform of the Centro de Memórias, accessible at: https://centrodememorias.bomjesus.pt.
Its dissemination represents a significant step in the democratisation of access to information and in strengthening the connection between the community and its heritage.
