Descentrar at Bom Jesus

August 9

Braga Cultura, through its program “Descentrar”, presented two different proposals on the same day and at the same location:

At 6:00 p.m. — “O Jardim” (The Garden) — a guided theatrical visit by the Academia de Teatro Tin.Bra.. As part of the celebrations of the bicentennial of the birth of Camilo Castelo Branco (1825–2025), this activity leads participants along a trail through the Santuário do Bom Jesus do Monte (Braga), evoking the novelist’s deep connection with this emblematic place, so often mentioned in his works.

In this literary-dramatic journey, the landscapes and spaces of Bom Jesus become a living stage for Camilo-inspired characters, excerpts, and reflections.

Throughout the visit, participants were guided by characters and passages that encouraged reflection on themes such as love, devotion, sadness, and the contrast between nature and human destiny — all immortalized in the writing of Camilo Castelo Branco.

At 7:30 p.m. — “Esfanes” — a concert by the experimental music collective that released its first album in 2024. Five musicians in creative collision, in an encounter where improvisation and experimentation shape a sonic language between free rhyme and shared listening.
