The Lake of Bom Jesus was drained during the month of February for works of requalification, cleaning, and maintenance.

Despite the seemingly unusual scene (a surprise for many visitors), this type of intervention is carried out every two or three years, practically since its creation in 1877 and expansion in 1908.

The Brotherhood of Bom Jesus do Monte carries out its work and activities in perfect alignment with the encyclical Laudato Si, by Pope Francis, observing the call to care for our common home and respect for the fauna and flora that inhabit the space.
