Presentation of the “Partilha” Program

October 16

The Confraria do Bom Jesus do Monte presented the new program “Partilha”, which embodies the social responsibility of the institution of the Archdiocese of Braga.
The purpose is to share part of the revenue generated by religious tourism, boosted by the elevation of the country’s largest Christological sanctuary to World Heritage status.

The launch of the new project, which has a strongly social nature, was marked by the awarding of a check for seven thousand euros to the Associação Humanitária dos Bombeiros Voluntários de Braga and equipment worth three thousand euros to the Bombeiros Sapadores de Braga.

The project will now include two new institutions each year, revealed the president of the Confraria do Bom Jesus, Cónego Mário Martins.

Present at the ceremony, the Archbishop Metropolitan of Braga, D. José Cordeiro, highlighted “the beauty of the ability to know how to share with those in need, even when resources are not that abundant and when we live in a time when organizations want to have more and more, rather than share.”
