Peace Figuration

On the right and upward direction we find the figure of Peace, represented by the image of a woman with her head uncovered, her eyes raised, her face turned to the sky and holding an olive branch in her right hand, which, ironically, disappeared. The olive tree is the universal symbol of Peace.

It was with an olive branch that God gave Noah the end of the flood and warned him of peace on earth.

In the couplet, beneath the sculpture, the biblical excerpt «PAX FRATRIBUS ET CHARITAS CUM FIDE», translated: «peace to the brothers and charity, accompanied by faith», in other words, peace infuses love and fraternity.
